I graduated this summer from the University of Portsmouth with a BA Hons 2-1 in Communication Design and I am therefore very interested to utilise my qualification in a relevant job role. I have experience in the software packages Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and knowledge of Dreamweaver and am very enthusiastic in graphic design to the extent that I would like to pursue a career in this field. In the summer of 2006 I applied for a re-branding job through the University’s SED program (Skills and Experience Development). After an interview I was employed to design a new name (spotless), logo and identity for Hunnyhill Ltd. This was a dream 6-week placement. After my GCSE’s I went to the City of Bath College were I did a 2-year AVCE in Art and Design this is where I explored all areas of this subject. In my final year I specialised in Photography, Design for Advertising and Graphic Design. Here I found my enthusiasm for Graphic Design. I left College with top grades and excepted an unconditional place at the University of Portsmouth. I deferred this entry for a year, for a year out in New Zealand, I spent a full 11 months working and travelling the islands. This was an amazing experience and I have gained great friendships. I have just returned from a second trip where i travelled the East Coast of Australia and the North and South Islands of New Zealand. It was great to be back and see my friends. I am a pro-active person who enjoys outdoor activities. I spend my personal time developing my love of painting. My favourite mediums are oils and acrylics. I would describe my work as bold, colourful and abstract. I also enjoy travelling and exploring where I have the chance to improve my photography skills. I love this subject and try to have a camera with me all the time. (Top circle is an original acrylic painting on canvas, black and white photograph of Bath weir, colour digital photo taken in Menorca and last circle photograph taken in Portsmouth's Victoria Park.) This rectangle photo is of an identity I created for the University of Portsmouths Summer Show Exhibition 2007. It was a strong identity for the show and was a great achievement of mine. This 6-week placement re-branding Hunnyhill has been a valuable experience. I have really enjoyed working as a team and to put my knowledge and creative skills to use in designing a logo, letterheads, comp slips, business cards, brochure and a web site. I would like to take this chance to thank Sheena and Garry for this opportunity.
