SED
|
The University of Portsmouth Careers & Employment Service has created SED (Skills and Experience Development), a work experience programme that seeks to offer short-term flexible placements in small and medium sized organisations in the private, voluntary and public sectors. This pilot scheme endeavours to place undergraduate and postgraduate students in appropriate local organisations with a view to developing new, or strengthening existing skills and competencies in a work environment. Small and medium sized employers can provide motivating and challenging surroundings in which to gain valuable business awareness. Work experience opportunities represent a co-operative activity between the Student, the Employer and the Careers & Employment Service. The commitment of all three partners is vital for the success of each work experience opportunity.
